RSS: Really Simple Syndication
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It is also known as Rich Site Summary. It is a standard for the syndication of web content and used to distribute the web contents like news feeds headlines, event summary and forum updates in XML based format.
The basic idea of RSS was developed in early 1995 when Ramanathan V. Guha and others in Apple Computer’s Advanced Technology Group developed the Meta Content Framework.
How it works
RSS syndicates web content automatically to provide benefits for both publishers and readers. It facilitates a reader to subscribe their favorite website and read the updates without again going to the website.
